Celebrating Our Shared Humanity Through Art

First Congregational Church of Western Springs is proud to host the Chicago-area opening of Embracing Our Differences, a traveling exhibit featuring 25 pieces of artwork created by young artists from around the world.

The exhibit uses beautiful, thought-provoking and sometimes playful artwork to explore kindness, respect, peace and the ways our shared humanity brings us together. Each piece offers an opportunity for people of all ages to reflect, learn and start conversations about what connects us.

The exhibit is free and open to all and will begin a two-year journey through the Chicago area, traveling to churches and schools throughout the community.

Each of the 25 artworks is reproduced on a 30-by-40-inch poster and features the perspective of a young artist from a different part of the world.

A Community Partnership

The exhibit grew out of Embracing Our Differences, a nonprofit organization founded 20 years ago to use art and dialogue to promote understanding and celebrate our common humanity.

This 2026 Chicago-area exhibit follows a successful 2024 tour sponsored by Presbyterian Church of Western Springs, which was hosted by 14 organizations and viewed by approximately 3,500 people.

First Congregational Church of Western Springs is pleased to join other local churches and schools in bringing this exhibit back to our community.

Come experience the artwork, reflect on its message, and join the conversation about what brings us together.

Here’s a sneak preview of some of the art.
