October 2018 Rummage Information


RUMMAGE SALE DATES/TIMES:  Oct. 16, 6-8pm and Oct. 17, 10am-noon & 6-8pm
(Please note that all sales are final and admission is free.)

DONATION DROP-OFF: Oct. 13, 9am-1pm & Oct. 14, 1-3pm

Whether you’re a savvy shopper or a worker-bee, this is a sale you won’t want to miss! Nearly 300 folks of all ages from the church and community come together to accomplish incredible feats (and snag incredible deals). Seeing is believing! All profits from the sale are donated to local, national and international organizations around the globe. So, everyone’s a winner.

Volunteers are needed for all shifts beginning with set-up Wednesday, Oct. 10 all the way through to clean-up on Thursday morning, October 18.  There are a variety of shifts to choose from and many have free childcare available.

Sunday morning, Oct. 14 is reserved for worship. While your enthusiasm is appreciated, please begin rummage work after 12:30pm.

Snacks will be provided to keep you energized and don’t forget to bring your your reusable water bottle to stay hydrated.

Donation drop-off will be held via a convenient drive-through service in the church parking lot from 9-1 on Saturday, Oct. 13, and 1-3 on Sunday, Oct. 14.

Remember, if you volunteer for three or more hours before the sale you get to SHOP EARLY! Oct. 16 & 17, room chairs may shop early from 3-4:15pm and general volunteers may shop early from 4:30-5:45pm.

You do NOT need to be a member of First Congregational Church to volunteer.


Please start putting aside your gently-used rummage. See below for a list of what we can and cannot accept.

We will gratefully ACCEPT the following gently-used items:

  • Toys

  • Books

  • Clothing

  • Housewares

  • Home furnishings

  • Linens

  • Jewelry

  • Collectibles

  • Small electronics (coffee makers, toasters, Crock Pots, etc.)

  • Stereo equipment

  • Sporting equipment

Unfortunately, we CANNOT accept the following items:

  • Televisions

  • Computers & computer monitors

  • Printers

  • Fax Machines

  • Infant car & booster seats

  • All cribs (includes portable Pack-N-Play types)

  • Large and/or upholstered furniture (includes armoires, sofas, etc.)

  • Unframed mirrors

  • Chandeliers/other hard-wired fixtures

  • Smoke detectors

  • Ceiling fans

  • Paint & toxic chemicals

  • Mattresses & box springs

  • Large area rugs

  • Large appliances (note:  working small appliances like coffee makers, toasters, Crock Pots, are accepted)

  • Fire extinguishers
