Sunday Morning Chapel Gatherings (8am)
We have a new opportunity to slow down, be quiet, and reflect on dimensions of spiritual health. All are invited to attend the Reflective Services on specific Sundays (schedule listed below) at 8am in the Chapel. They are 45 minutes, and offer wisdom, silence, reflection, and optional sharing. This offering results from our recent strategic planning initiative to “create new avenues to explore and deepen our spirituality together.” and is part of our Christian Ventures Committee. The reflective services are open to all, please join us whenever your schedule allows.
October 22 :: Prayer Trees: (Nannette Farina). We will begin with sketching of a group of trees, which we will color using watercolor pencils. Choosing from a collection of prayers we will then add our favorite prayers, scriptures, and sayings along the edges of our trees. The Prayer Trees will serve as visual reminder of the beauty of a close relationship to God.
November 19 :: Loneness and Aloneness: (Mark Laubacher): The group will explore the difference of loneness and aloneness. Insights from thinkers throughout history along with experiences of the group will be discussed.
December 17 :: Meditation (Todd Combs): Please join us for a contemplative gathering discussing the practice, and many benefits of meditation. We are often so busy it seems there is no time to stop and meditate; however, meditation provides more time as your mind calms and becomes focused. Time will be spent in seated meditation followed by several minutes of walking meditation.
